Brighton have started their Premier League campaign in style with a dominant 4-nil victory over 10-man Aston Villa at the Amex Stadium.

Maxim De Cuyper scored twice, while Jack Hinshelwood also grabbed a brace as Brighton raced into a 4-nil lead before half-time.

The result gives Brighton a perfect start to the new season, while Villa, who finished fourth last campaign, suffered a heavy opening-day defeat.

Elsewhere, Manchester City also beat Bournemouth 2-1.
