The National Coordinator of the National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office, George Nwabueze, has continued to defend the legitimacy of the agency, releasing additional documents he says link the office to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, OSGF.

Nwabueze shared a 2010 letter purportedly issued by the OSGF, acknowledging a proposal for a “Made in Naija” project in Ireland as part of Nigeria’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

He said the document shows the initiative has existed for about 16 years.

However, reports say the authenticity of the letter is yet to be confirmed, but Nwabueze maintained that the office is committed to promoting locally made products and national development.
