Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on African countries to deepen cooperation and present a united position on artificial intelligence, telecommunications and digital governance to strengthen the continent’s influence in global technology decisions.
Speaking in Abuja at the African Telecommunications Union conference, Shettima said Africa must work together to expand internet access, improve cybersecurity, promote responsible AI governance and accelerate digital development across the continent.
He said Nigeria remains committed to advancing broadband connectivity, artificial intelligence and digital innovation, while urging African nations to collaborate in shaping the future of emerging technologies.
