Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has urged governors across the country to fully implement local government autonomy, saying the policy has improved governance and development in Benue State.

Speaking at a media briefing in Abuja, Alia said local councils in the state now execute their own projects, particularly road infrastructure, while his administration focuses on supervision and accountability.

The governor also cautioned politicians against politicising insecurity, insisting that local government autonomy remains essential for effective grassroots development.
