The Senate of Nigeria has approved the 2026 budget proposal of the Nigeria Customs Service, endorsing a revenue target of 11.074 trillion naira and an expenditure estimate of 1.295 trillion naira.

Lawmakers commended the Customs Service for surpassing its 2025 revenue target by generating about 7.2 trillion naira, representing over 110 per cent performance, and expressed confidence in its ability to achieve the 2026 target through improved technology and anti-smuggling operations.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio praised the agency’s performance, saying the approved budget would further strengthen revenue generation and support the Federal Government’s fiscal objectives.
